29th March 2010 – We are delighted to announce the opening of the new Village Hall! It will be opened on Saturday 24th April 2010 by Mr Anthony Barber-Lomax, a representative of the Fitzwilliam (Wentworth) Estate at 2pm. There will be an opening ceremony followed by an unveiling of a commemorative plaque with free celebratory bubbly and light snacks. There will also be a tree planting, children’s activities and competitions and other attractions to celebrate the opening of the hall. In the evening there will be a swing band and hot meal. All villagers are invited and you should have by now received your invite and newsletter. Other, select people, who have contributed to the hall in some way will also be invited. Entry to the evening function is by ticket only and instructions on obtaining your free ticket are included with your invite. No ticket is needed for the afternoon function but please let us know how many you will bring so that we can cater correctly.
So, if you have received your invite then please come along and have a good nosey at your new village hall. Directors of the Billingley Village Community Assocation Ltd have worked tirelessly to establish the hall and are proud to present it to you, the villagers of Billingley.
We would like to thank all the help and support we have received from villagers, local businesses, and committee members (both past and present), the Fitzwilliam (Wentworth) Estate who gifted the land and derelict barn and, of course, the BIG lottery fund. Without such generosity we would not be where we are today.
We very much look forward to sharing the celebrations with you. To book your tickets please email firstname.lastname@example.org
